Welcome to the Blog Buffet! Would you prefer a table or booth? Your illustrations will be arriving shortly, and I hope you enjoy your meal. Let's get you started with some vector art as appetizers.
Feeling a little full yet? Here is the main course...fresh fish from the sea prepared by the best fishermen in the world! Would you like some tartar sauce? I know I would.
Now that you ate some healthy stuff, lets have pizza for dessert and work it off with some batting practice and butterfly watching.
Are you getting sleepy from the buffet and exercise? Great! Enjoy some storytime and relax!
Thank you for joining us this evening. I hope you will return next time and try some of our other buffet items.
Here are my illustrator contributions to the Ripple website. Ripple is a website created by Kelly Light to help the animal victims of the Deep Water Horizon Gulf Oil Spill. You can help by visiting the Ripple site and making a donation to buy illustrations by many talented illustrators. Below are my donation illustrations that are available. Go check out all the great artwork!
Hello! Here is a new illustration I just did. I hope you enjoy it. The background texture is a combination of syrup and powdered sugar on a transparency sheet that I made on my scanner. After I ate breakfast, I spent about 2 hours making textures from all sorts of food and objects.
During the last 2 weeks or so, many illustrators have been drawing pigs with banjos. Guy Francis began this challenge and many artists have contributed their banjo pig illustrations. Here are a few of mine so far. The first is a biker pig dude and the second was a fun name request by Chris Gilbert. I challenge you to make your own banjo pig and show it!
I am playing a little Blog Ketchup (catch up) today to show you some of my random illustrations.
Here is my addition to the Pig Band illustrations that some of us artists are doing for fun. This is my tribute to Boston's drummer back in the 70's & 80's with the football helmet afro....SMOKIN'....I ain't jokin'.
Observation Comic: A couple weeks ago, I spotted some twins that were a little too old to be dressed alike so I thought of this and sketched it.
Do you suffer from separation anxiety? One of these guys does. Random Illustration - P.B. & J YUMMY!
A week ago I traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to visit a friend who now lives there. While there, I taught the kids at his school how to draw and also showed them some of my art. I had a great time seeing the kids enjoy drawing. Here are some of their characters below. I showed them how to use their imaginations and illustrate the story that they were reading in class.
Great work by the kids, huh? It is fun to see their styles and the characters they make just out of basic shapes. Can you find the random Cyclops on some drawings?
"ROAR!" The theory of running away from alligators in zig zag motion is useless....run straight to confuse them! As you run away, which colors do you like?
Here are some illustrations from the latest children's book I just finished...Recycling Rudy. I've never drawn so much trash before! Good thing I didn't have to clean it up. He did.
Hello everyone! I wanted to let you know that I have been interviewed by the visual artist website Illustration Pages - http://www.illustrationpages.com. The interview is a great honor, and I am happy to share it with you.
Illustration Pages highlights the artwork of many artists around the world, and I am honored to be a part of it. I will let you know when it is on their website, but I think it will be this Friday - April 2nd. Talk to yall later!
This is a zebra and giraffe or a giraffe and zebra - depending on which side you start from. I wanted to work more on some fun animals. Does the zebra like the giraffe tagging along?
These sloth-like characters appeared to me today out of today's episode of staring into the carpet - mixed with thinking about being a new dad. The buffalo characters emerged too and looked like they needed some dialogue. Enjoy the random comic!
Here is an illustration for a book I did a couple weeks ago. Which dog does he choose? By the way, dogs do eat whole ankle socks...ours did!Have a good week everyone!
Hello again! I wanted to show yall some spot illustrations I am working on with a new client BMB Design. Not sure what they will be used for yet, but I think it is either something educational or a pamphlet . The actual picture is more spread out, but here is a condensed version of just the characters.
Hello everyone! Here is a character sample of the newest character I am illustrating. It is for a new book project about recycling. He's a cool kid with a 60's style...complete with bell bottoms and butterfly collar and also a fade buzz on the side (90's influence).
Have you ever seen those huge rodents called Nutria? If not, here is one. Back in 1997, I was driving to work around 6:30 a.m. and I think I hit one of these creatures. I might be exaggerating, but it stood up and looked right at me. There was a big thud sound under my car, but when I came home from work in the afternoon, there was no sign of it...nor any damage to my car. What was it then? Anyway, enjoy this picture....I am working with more textures and a more painted style.
Every artist has at least 1 Roman soldier doodle....this is mine! My interpretation is your everyday Roman guard who has lots of time to think. He is stationed waaaay outside the stress of the city. What is he thinking about? The same things we all think about.
I wanted this to look like the old Italian renaissance paintings...except this took about 30 minutes.
Here is the new promotional postcard that I sent out to publishers and clients last week. I think I sent around 70 or so and need to send about 20 more. I hope to get some new clients this year and some fun projects...so I hope this stands out. These illustrations are from work I did recently as well as some projects from last year.
